Renault India has officially announced the debut of the Duster SUV in the Indian market. Reviving the name of the vehicle in the country, the new-gen version will be officially unveiled on January 26. The vehicle was first launched in the country in 2012 and earned popularity among Indian consumers. However, it was later discontinued and is now being brought back into the country. It will be the first product to be launched under the brand's International Game Plan 2025.

The announcement comes at a time when we know one of the rivals of the SUV, the Tata Sierra, will be launched in India on November 25. Apart from the new SUV, Duster on the information available, the SUV will compete against rivals like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, and others.

Before the launch, the vehicle was introduced in the international market and has been spied testing in the country on different occasions. Based on the information available, it will bring a completely new design, very similar to the version available in the international market. It will get V-shaped tail lamps, thick wheel arch cladding, a shark fin antenna, roof rails, rear washer and wiper, and a raked windshield.

At the front, the updated Renault Duster will feature a vertical design with Y-shaped LED lights, a grille resembling a bull bar, and a contoured hood. Other notable features of the refreshed Renault Duster include angular wheel arches, side mirrors with built-in turn signals, darkened B-pillars, traditional door handles, and more.

Regarding the specifications, the globally available Renault Duster offers several powertrain choices, such as a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine combined with a 48V mild hybrid system, producing a total of 128.2 hp, and a 1.6-litre strong hybrid petrol engine paired with two electric motors powered by a 1.2kWh battery, delivering a peak output of 138 hp. Additionally, there is a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG engine generating 98.6 hp, paired with a 6-speed transmission that drives all four wheels.
