The Mini Cooper Convertible, the brand's open-top offering, is set to debut in December 2025. Bookings have already commenced at authorised Mini showrooms across India, with online reservations also available via the official Mini website. Derived from the Cooper S hatchback, the convertible comes equipped with an electrically operated roof that can be opened or closed at speeds of up to 30 km/h.

The Mini Cooper Convertible shares its 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with the hardtop model, delivering 204 hp and 300 Nm. Power is sent through a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox, ensuring smooth performance. However, the convertible's 0-100 km/h sprint takes 6.9 seconds, slightly slower than the hardtop, owing to the extra structural bracing added for chassis strength.

At the front, the Mini Cooper Convertible sports circular LED headlamps paired with matching daytime running lamps. An octagonal grille with a blanked-off centre trim, blacked-out horizontal elements, bold 'S' badging, and wide air dams complete its distinctive and sporty fascia.

The convertible retains the familiar proportions of its hardtop sibling but adds an electrically operated roof that opens or closes in just 18 seconds at speeds up to 30 km/h. Its side profile is enhanced by 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and rugged black cladding along the length, including the wheel arches, giving it a stylish yet tough appeal.

The Mini Cooper Convertible carries its circular design theme inside, with a dual-tone minimalist cabin, pill-shaped vents, and a customisable dashboard made of sustainable materials. A 9.4-inch Android-based OLED touchscreen doubles as the instrument cluster, complemented by a head-up display. Features mirror the hardtop, including powered seats, Harman Kardon audio, climate control, rearview camera, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and cruise control.

The Mini Cooper Convertible is slated for launch in December 2025, though its official price remains unannounced. However, it could be positioned around Rs 50 lakh, given that the standard hardtop version currently starts at Rs 43.7 lakh.
