Maruti Suzuki is setting up the stage for the launch of its all-new SUV tomorrow in the Indian market, dubbed the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. While the brand has not yet confirmed the name, Maruti Suzuki's website briefly mentioned the name, confirming that the new SUV will be called the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. However, a few other reports also claim that the SUV could also be called Escudo, if not Victoris.
Engine And Gearbox
On the powertrain front, it is likely to be powered by the 1.5-litre K15 motor, paired with a 5-speed gearbox and a 6-speed automatic gearbox, available as options. The naturally aspirated petrol powerplant is expected to get a CNG option as well. The engine could be retuned, but the output figures will remain unchanged at 100 hp and 88 hp, in petrol and CNG guise, respectively.
Design
While the brand has not yet revealed the full design of the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, the recently shared teaser image confirms that it will get LED tail lamps, which include a three-dimensional design, a central brake lamp, and turn indicators. The taillight seems to carry a 'boomerang' design, with sharp cues. Also, the previously leaked spy shots claim that the new Maruti Suzuki SUV will be based on the Suzuki Global C platform and will feature a longer wheelbase as compared to the Grand Vitara, giving more space to the cabin and the boot, along with several design tweaks on the profile.

Expected Price And Rivals
While the exact price of the new Maruti Suzuki SUV is expected to be announced tomorrow, it will probably be priced around the Rs 20-25 lakh price bracket. Upon arrival, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris will be the brand's answer to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Curvv, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, and more.
