The Chery iCar V23 has been sighted in India for the first time. The camouflaged prototype was seen at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) facility in Pune, a location where vehicles typically undergo homologation and certification before entering the domestic market. This strongly suggests that preparations for an India launch are underway.

The development gains importance due to Chery's collaboration with JSW Motors, the passenger mobility division of the JSW Group. Industry reports indicate that this SUV could be among the first products introduced under this tieup, following the Jetour T2. The Jetour's India debut, initially expected in the latter half of 2026, has reportedly been delayed, which may allow the iCar V23-based EV to take the spotlight sooner.

Exterior Design & Dimensions

Despite heavy camouflage, the SUV retains the upright, boxy silhouette of the China-spec iCar V23. Circular headlamps connected by a closed front fascia give it a distinctive look, while the bumper design hints at off-road inspiration. The vehicle measures 4,220mm in length, 1,915mm in width, and 1,845mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,735mm. Ground clearance is expected to be in the 205-210mm range, enhancing its rugged stance. Side steps, pull-type door handles, and alloy wheels ranging from 19 to 21 inches add to its practicality and presence. At the rear, a boxy external storage unit replaces the conventional spare wheel, mounted on a side-hinged tailgate.
