In a bizarre incident, a Mahindra Thar was found stuck on railway tracks near Dimapur Railway Station in Nagaland, raising questions about road safety and driver behaviour. The event took place at night and was captured on video by bystanders. Now, the short clip is being circulated on social media.

According to a report by The Morung Express, the Thar, bearing registration number NL-01/CA-8181, had reportedly entered the tracks from the station's MXN side and moved toward the Dimapur Railway Station platform area. The vehicle got stuck on Line No. 1 near the old flyover on the Burma Camp side before it could move further. The driver in the incident was identified as Thepfuneituo, aged 65.

Reports quote Police officials saying that the driver had driven onto the railway tracks in violation of safety norms, which could have led to serious consequences had a train passed at the time. Later on, the vehicle was removed from the railway tracks, ensuring the safety of the railway property, driver, and general public.

Visuals of the incident circulated widely on social media, showing the black Thar attempting to move along the railway tracks before losing traction and getting stranded. Onlookers can be heard raising an alarm as people gather near the spot. The video soon triggered widespread discussion online about reckless driving and misuse of powerful vehicles.

Several users on social media expressed concern over what they described as a growing trend of irresponsible behaviour linked to vehicles like the Thar. One user commented, "Driving a Thar doesn't mean you can cross every limit; at that moment, if a train had come, it could have been disastrous." Another remarked, "Some people think owning a Thar gives them the right to drive anywhere." One user commented on the vehicle, saying, "why always Thar".

The incident has drawn attention to the importance of adhering to traffic safety laws and the potential dangers of unauthorised entry into restricted zones such as railway tracks.
