Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) recorded its highest ever monthly domestic sales of 59,107 units in January 2026, registering a 9.5% year-on year growth. HMIL also achieved its highest-ever total monthly sales of 73,137 units in January 2026, with a robust year-on-year growth of 11.5%, including monthly export sales of 14,030 units with year-on-year growth of 20.9%. 

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Tarun Garg, MD & CEO, HMIL, said: "January 2026 marks a defining chapter in Hyundai Motor India's journey. Achieving our highest-ever monthly domestic sales of 59,107 units, alongside highest-ever total sales of 73,137 units with a strong 11.5% year-on-year growth, reflects not only Hyundai's brand leadership but also the collective strength of our people, partners and customers. The remarkable 20.9% growth in exports to 14,030 units underscores the trust brand Hyundai continues to inspire across global markets. Recently, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) announced that Tarun Garg has taken charge as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO), effective January 1, 2026. This appointment marks the first time an Indian national leads HMIL since its establishment 29 years ago.

Tarun Garg brings over 32 years of experience in the automotive sector, spanning sales, marketing, distribution, financial management, product strategy, and brand communication. Prior to this role, he served as Head of Sales, Service & Marketing, and later as Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer at HMIL.

Also, the brand is planning to expand its footprint in the Indian market, as in November, the brand revealed its plans for the Indian market at the launch event of the new generation Venue. Specifically, the South Korean automaker has announced that it will launch 26 new models in the country by FY30. The newly launched Venue is the first in this series and will be followed by more products in the future. With this, the automaker aims to increase its market share while aiming for faster growth in the country.

Previously, the Korean brand announced its plan to launch seven new models in India starting from the next financial year and continuing through FY 2030. There will also be six complete model redesigns. Furthermore, the company will introduce seven updated versions and six new variations of existing models during this timeframe.
