Audi India is set to launch the Audi SQ8 in the Indian market today, strengthening its performance SUV lineup. Positioned strategically between the standard Audi Q8 and the more extreme Audi RS Q8, the new Audi SQ8 aims to strike a balance between everyday usability and high-performance capability.
The Audi SQ8 brings a more aggressive character compared to the Q8, without stepping into the outright hardcore territory of the RS Q8. With mechanical enhancements, sharper styling elements and a feature-rich cabin, the SUV is designed to appeal to buyers looking for a sporty yet practical luxury offering.
Audi SQ8 - Powertrain
Under the hood, the Audi SQ8 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, delivering 507 hp and 770 Nm of peak torque. This engine is shared with the Audi RS Q8, although tuned differently to suit the SQ8's positioning.
The power is channelled through an 8-speed automatic transmission, paired with Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system. This setup ensures optimal traction, improved handling dynamics and strong straight-line performance-key traits expected from a performance-focused SUV.
Audi SQ8- Design
The Audi SQ8 continues with a coupe-SUV profile, giving it a more dynamic stance compared to traditional SUVs. At the front, it features Audi's signature single-frame grille with a honeycomb pattern, complemented by darkened elements that highlight its sporty intent.

Sleek LED headlamps, a sculpted bumper and large air intakes further enhance its aggressive look. Along the sides, the sloping roofline and strong shoulder lines are accentuated by S-specific alloy wheels and blacked-out detailing.
At the rear, the Audi SQ8 gets a full-width LED light bar, quad exhaust outlets and a diffuser-style bumper, along with a subtle roof spoiler-rounding off its performance-oriented design.
Audi SQ8- Interior & Features
Inside, the Audi SQ8 features a driver-centric layout with a premium digital interface. It comes equipped with a flat-bottom steering wheel with S badging, paddle shifters and a gloss black centre console. The cabin is expected to offer leather and Alcantara upholstery with contrast stitching, along with sport seats for enhanced support. Ambient lighting and high-quality materials elevate the overall luxury quotient.

The SUV gets a dual-screen setup, including a fully digital instrument cluster and infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other highlights include a Bang & Olufsen sound system, panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control and powered seats with ventilation, heating and massage functions.
Audi SQ8- Safety And Tech
On the safety front, the Audi SQ8 is equipped with multiple airbags, ABS, electronic stability control and a 360-degree camera system. It also features a suite of ADAS functions such as adaptive cruise control, lane assist, blind-spot monitoring and automatic emergency braking.
Audi SQ8- Bookings
Audi had already commenced bookings for the Audi SQ8 ahead of its launch, with customers able to reserve the SUV via the official website or the myAudi Connect platform with an initial token amount.
