The Toyota Hilux pickup truck, known for its reliability and off-roading capabilities, is set to enter a new era with a host of updates. This latest iteration is still on the test bed, with multiple sightings of the test mule. However, the design of the updated version of the pickup truck has been leaked online. The images seemed to have been taken from the brochure of the vehicle, giving us a look at the latest design.
Based on the pictures, the 2026 Toyota Hilux will have a completely new front fascia. This consists of a new, sharp design with sleek LED DRLs placed on the edge of the bonnet, along with this, the vehicle now gets vertical fog lamps placed on the edges of the bumper. Meanwhile, the headlamps are placed right below the DRLs. All of it is brought together by a newly designed grille that seems to have a rectangular shape.

Shifting focus to the sides reveals a silhouette that seems quite familiar. The door panels appear to remain the same as those on the current model. There are side steps that improve the ease of getting in and out of the pickup truck. Additionally, the black B-pillars paired with the rugged wheel arches give it a sporty look. A shark fin antenna is also visible in the image. Taking a closer look, the brand has updated the design of the alloy wheels, which now seem to have a mix of grey and black colours.
Lastly, the rear features a spacious cargo bed with relatively sleek LED tail lights positioned at the edges. This seems to have a familiar appeal when compared to the design of the current model available in the market. Chances are, the changes in design language brought by the pickup truck in this iteration might be used on the latest iteration of the Fortuner as well. However, these are just speculations and need confirmation from the brand.
The powertrain details of the 2026 Toyota Hilux are not known yet. Speculations are, it might get the 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine or might ditch it to have a powertrain with some electrical support. It is expected to have manual and automatic transmission options with a 4x4 system to support its off-roading capabilities.
