Mumbai:
A 105-year-old woman has become the oldest person in Maharashtra to apply online for voter identity card.
Saraswati Jadhav, a resident of suburban Andheri, applied for the card recently and it would be sent to her soon, an election official said, adding that she is the oldest person in the state to apply for the card online.
"Her age was misquoted in the earlier card, so I applied online for correction and it was a very easy process," Jadhav's grandson Vinayak said.
"I took her picture and uploaded on the site and filled up other information," he said.
Asked if she would vote, Vinayak said, "She always exercises her franchise in all polls. Usually, we take her to the polling centre in an autorickshaw."
"Jadhav's case should inspire others to get their voter cards online," the election official said.
