Cyclone Phailin: numbers that underscore the impact

The storm, Cyclone Phailin, is likely to be the strongest to hit India in at least 14 years.

New Delhi: 'Very severe' cyclone Phailin barrels fiercely towards coastal Odisha and Andhra Pradesh at wind speeds averaging 200 km per hour and is expected to hit the coast between 6 pm and 8 pm today. A massive operation launched to evacuate more than five lakh people from the low-lying areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh is underway.
