Man arrested with ten crude bombs in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: A man carrying country-made pipe bombs was arrested today by the police from the old city area of Ahmedabad.

Cops raided the house of Shahzad in the Shah Alam area in the city and recovered a crude bomb from his possession. His interrogation led to the recovery of ten more crude bombs which were defused by the police.

"The bombs that we have recovered are all country made. These cannot cause major damage but only to the near vicinity. These are made by the use of the crackers that are made, balls etc., are mixed to make these country made bombs. These bombs are used for spreading terror and to intimidate people. But if they hit a sensitive area of the body, then it can lead to death also. Ten bombs were recovered in the evening and one bomb in the night," said bomb squad chief Rakesh Yadav.

The arrest came following a timely alert by Shahzad's wife.

Police is questioning him further to ascertain his motive of keeping the bombs.
