Yale student jumped from Empire State Building

New York: The person who jumped off the Empire State Building on Tuesday has been identified as Cameron Dadaghi, a 21-year old undergraduate student from Yale University.

According to the police, Dadaghi, who hailed from Austin Texas, left a suicide note in dorm room in which he apologised for resorting to suicide.

In the note, he also said he would be jumping off the Empire State building or the George Washington Bridge.

"We are all deeply distressed by this news," wrote College Dean Mary Miller in an e-mail to students yesterday.

The Empire State Building is the third-tallest building in America.

More than 30 people have committed suicide at the building since it opened in 1931.
