A teen died after he fell from the fourth floor of a mall in Singapore while filming a stunt for Snapchat

Singapore:

A teenager tragically died after he fell from the fourth floor of a popular shopping mall in Singapore. 17-year-old Jonathan Chow was trying to film a stunt for Snapchat when he fell off a ledge.

In the CCTV video uploaded online, the victim's friend can be seen holding a phone just moments before he jumped over the railing. Within seconds, he is gone.

"Help me take a Snapchat video and I'll jump", he reportedly told his friend Ruth as he jumped in his quest for the perfect shot. The ledge collapsed under his weight and he fell to his death, according to local website TODAY Online.

The incident took place on February 24 at Orchard Central mall in Singapore.

Ruth, who saw the tragedy unfold, said she knew it was dangerous but it was too late before she could react. 'We both thought the ledge was made of concrete, but when he jumped, he fell straight through', she told the website.

Video of the broken ledge was later uploaded on social media. Passers-by tried to revive the 17-year-old after he fell. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died, said reports.
