Gangwon Province, South Korea:
Various regions in South Korea were struggling on Monday with a waist-high snow that blanketed the country's east coast, after a record-breaking snowfall which stranded hundreds and caused severe losses on farming.
The Gangwon Regional Meteorological Administration said that the amount of the two-day snowfall in the area reached almost 4 feet in some parts of the east coast.
According to South Korean meteorologists, the snowfall on Friday was the heaviest single-day record in the last 100 years.
Military, police and local government officials joined the residents on Monday to clean the snow on the roads.
The military also started delivering food to isolated residents.
Some of the residents in the hard hit areas were told that there would be more snow in the morning, so they spent the night before at work in order to avoid the snow-covered roads.
Four of the elementary schools in the Gangwon Province temporarily shut down due to heavy snow.
