New Delhi: Two restaurants, both specialists in kathi rolls, are now in a Manhattan court, reports the New York Times. (Read The New York Times Report here)

The article says that Payal Saha, originally from Kolkata and owner of the Kati Roll Company restaurant says Kati Junction, located near-by, is ripping off not just her food but her decor as well.

Ms. Saha responded by filing a lawsuit against Kati Junction, alleging that it was infringing on her trademark and had unfairly appropriated her recipes, her menu, her layout and her color scheme, and had hired some of her former workers, including a former manager, to avail itself of her trade secrets.

Last month, Judge Shira A. Scheindlin of Federal District Court in Manhattan issued a ruling permitting the suit to proceed," the report in the New York Times says,

Her competitor, Kati Junction, has denied the charges.

A date for the trial has not yet been fixed, the paper reports.
