Mumbai:
A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped and dumped in a semi-conscious state at the NTCC School ground, Malvani on Sunday night, according to the police.
According to an officer from the Malvani police, Gauri Chauhan (name changed) was playing with her dog on Sunday evening.
When the girl did not return home after play, the concerned grandmother and other neighbours started to search for the small girl.
Later in the night, someone saw the girl lying inside the compound of the school in a semi-conscious state and bleeding profusely. The grandmother and others rushed her to a private hospital in Malad.
Medical reports suggest that the girl was raped and the unknown culprit had also performed unnatural sex with the girl.
Narayan Ugle, inspector of Malvani police station, said, "A complaint was not filed on Sunday, as they had taken the girl to the hospital. However, the family came yesterday and registered a complaint.
We have filed a case of kidnapping, rape and unnatural sex against the unknown accused." The police added that they will round up all previous offenders in the area and question them.
The police is also investigating whether the rape could be the result of a family dispute. However, they are yet to detain or arrest anyone.
