Call From Middle East Warns of Bomb at Kerala's Guruvayur Temple
Thrissur, Kerala: Security at Kerala's famous Sree Krishna Temple in Guruvayur has been put on high alert after the police received an anonymous bomb threat.

According to the police, a phone call this morning warmed of a bomb explosion at the temple within the next 24 hours.

"The call has been made from a Middle East country ..the bomb  disposal and dog squad have been pressed into service," said local police officer Jayachandran to news agency IANS.

The temple, which honours Lord Krishna, sees nearly 25,000 devotees everyday.

In 2011, temple authorities had received a hand-written letter in English claiming to be from the terror group Al Qaeda that threatened to blow up the temple.

The temple at Guruvayur is one of the most important pilgrimage centres of South India.
