Woman allegedly gangraped in Haryana, 21st case in over a month

Chandigarh: On a day when a Parliamentary panel visited Haryana to meet some of the rape victims and their families, yet another incident of crime against women in the state came to light, with a 50-year-old woman alleging gangrape by four unidentified persons in a village in Karnal district.

The victim filed a complaint saying that she was raped by two persons in a farm in Danerki village on Tuesday. Later on, two more persons joined them and took turns to rape her, police sources said today.

Police have filed a case and were making further investigations.

During the past over a month, 21 cases of rape have been reported from different parts of the state that included gangrape of a Dalit girl in Hisar last month and another such incident in Jind district's Sachcha Khera village, where the girl later committed suicide.
