'Have No Complaint Against Anyone,' Says 'Godwoman' Radhe Maa After Being Booked in Dowry Case

Mumbai: She may have found herself embroiled in a spate of controversies ranging from dowry harassment to being a fake Guru, but that does not seem to have dampened self-styled Godwoman Radhe Maa's spirits.

"Mujhe kisi se koi shikayat nahi hai. Karan karavan aape aap, maanas ke kuchh naahi haath (He [Lord] himself is reasons behind all causes, humans have no control over their destiny)," Radhe Maa told NDTV onboard a flight from Mumbai to Aurangabad.

"Satyamev Jayate. Shiv embodies the truth and the truth is beautiful. If any living being dedicates himself to social service then God ensures his victory," added the self-styled spiritual leader.

In the dowry case, a 32-year-old woman has accused Radhe Maa of instigating her in-laws, her followers, to demand dowry. A case has been registered under section 498A of the Indian Penal Code against her and the police have summoned her for questioning.

Falguni Bhrambhatt, a Mumbai-based lawyer, who says Sukhwinder Kaur popularly known as Radhe Maa is a fraud who takes advantage of the innocence of people has also filed an obscenity complaint.

Radhe Maa says the allegations are untrue and claims to be 'pure and pious'. She says she hugs all her devotees to reciprocate the love she is showered with.

"The family (complainants) would go to her as devotees. The complainant lady has said that as per what Guru Ma says our house functions and Sukhwinder Kaur instigates them. That is what she alleges," said Mukund Pawar, senior police inspector of Kandivali Police station.

Radhe Maa is likely to be questioned by the Mumbai police soon. Summons have been issued to her.
