Mumbai: Five rounds were fired by three bike-borne men outside Bollywood film producers and brothers Karim and Ali Morani's house in Mumbai on Saturday night. No one was reported injured in the incident.

Police have registered a case against unknown people under sections 307 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. While investigation is currently underway, the Crime Branch is conducting a parallel enquiry.

In his complaint, filed on Sunday, Mr Morani told the police that three men came on a bike and fired bullets.

Mr Karim Morani, who is also an accused in the 2G spectrum scam case and currently out on bail, had earlier complained about receiving threats from underworld don Ravi Pujari's gang and requested for a bodyguard.

Karim Morani has been charge-sheeted for allegedly having facilitated the transfer of Rs. 200 crore to the DMK-run Kalaignar TV and pocketing Rs. 6 crore in the process. He was arrested and lodged in Tihar Jail in 2011.

The Morani brothers have produced several films including last year's hit "Chennai Express" starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The film fraternity had backed him during his arrest in the 2G case.
