Now, Pawar play in Kochi IPL story

Mumbai: If the high-profile Tharoor-IPL tale was not already fairly tangled, NCP chief and former BCCI president Sharad Pawar has added a twist to it.

Speaking for the first time since the Lalit Modi-Shashi Tharoor IPL controversy broke, Pawar has said that four members of the consortium that bid and won the Kochi franchise, met him after the auction for the new IPL sides and asked for his help in transferring the Kochi team to Ahmedabad. These four members together have a majority stake in the Kochi franchise.

Pawar said he told them he would not get involved. "I said if you want my advice you should stay in Kochi," Pawar said.
