The five-phased Bihar elections will test a coalition of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U), Lalu Prasad's RJD and the Congress against the BJP and its allies. The party hopes to repeat its last year's national elections performance in which its NDA coalition had won 31 of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
