Mumbai: A recent video, purportedly released by the terror group ISIS, threatens revenge against India over the demolition of Babri Masjid and the deaths of Muslims in violence in Gujarat, Kashmir and Muzaffarnagar.

Sources say one of the men in the video has been identified as Fahad Sheikh. A resident of Kalyan near Mumbai, he had fled to Syria to join ISIS with three friends in May 2014, say officials in the National Investigation Agency.

"We will come to avenge Babri Masjid, we will come to avenge the Muslims of Gujarat, Kashmir and Muzaffarnagar," Fahad Sheikh is heard saying in the 22-minute video.

Fahad Sheikh's family, however, claimed the video was fake. "We have not seen the video yet, just a few photos. In those photos I don't see Fahad Sheikh," said Fahad's uncle Iftikhar Khan.

The video, he added, cannot be trusted. It could be a fake or it could have been recorded by threatening a person. "I appeal to my brothers not to trust videos of this sort," he added.

Fahad Sheikh is the only one identified in the video - in which he calls himself Abu Amr al-Hindi. Investigative agencies are now questioning the families of his companions -- Aarif Majid, Aman Tandel and Fahim Tanki -- to confirm their identities.

After the video was released, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said there is no reason to worry. "We will fight the forces of terrorism together," he said.
