Ban Raj Thackeray's MNS: Nitish Kumar

Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has come out strongly against Raj Thackeray's MNS.

Speaking on the incident in the Maharashtra Assembly on Monday, when Abu Azmi was roughed up for taking the oath in Hindi, Nitish has demanded a ban against the MNS, saying mere condemnation isn't strong enough. (Read: Raj Thackeray's men attack Abu Azmi)

"All limits have been crossed with this incident. How can you beat a member of the Assembly for taking his oath in Hindi? This is absolutely unacceptable. The Centre must act swiftly otherwise people will think they are hand-in-glove. It's a different matter he has been suspended for 4 years from the Assembly but there must be an investigation. An organisation like MNS must be banned; it's not enough to merely condemn them," he said.

As the new members of the Maharashtra Assembly were being sworn in on Monday, Raj Thackeray's men went on the offensive.

They slapped Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi, and grabbed the microphone.
