AAP Government Forms Teams for Zero Corruption in State

In the meeting, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal informed bureaucrats that the government has developed an information network under Vigilance Department.

New Delhi: To keep a check on corrupt practices in various departments, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has decided to form a team of officers who will try to ensure zero corruption in the state.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today held a meeting with the head of all departments and told them that government would not tolerate corruption at any cost, be it any minister, legislator, officer or any junior officer working in the field.

The move comes three days after the chief minister sacked Asim Ahmed Khan from his Cabinet on alleged graft charges.

"Government will soon form teams of officers, which will work under Vigilance Department, to keep a tab on the work in all departments and if any officer is found taking bribe, government will act tough," a senior government official said.

In the meeting, Mr Kejriwal informed the bureaucrats that the government has developed an information network under Vigilance Department.

"Through this network, we will search corruption in departments and if any officer is found taking bribe, government will sack him or her from the job besides taking strict action in such cases," Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said.

All department heads have also been asked to ensure that there was zero corruption in their departments and it was their responsibility that the work was done in their departments with full honesty, he said.

Mr Sisodia also said the chief minister has asked officers that if they need resources and there was need to change the system, government would provide all such things, but corruption would not be tolerated.

Yesterday, Mr Kejriwal had held a meeting with all AAP legislators and had said that of the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) been under the control of the state government, sacked minister Asim Ahmed Khan would have been in jail by now.
