Police to quiz two judges over suicide

Kochi: The Kerala Police are set to record statements of two Kerala High Court judges on the suicide of a sessions judge, a police officer said on Saturday.

Alappuzha district principal sessions judge P.K. Baburaj, 52, was found hanging inside his house near Alappuzha on July 2.

Baburaj was promoted to the position of district judge at Alappuzha May 23. Earlier he served as additional district judge at Thrissur.

While the local police were investigating the case, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy ordered a Crime Branch probe.

A source in the police department said the Crime Branch will take statements from the two judges next week, but refused to identify them.
