Puducherry polls: Stalemate on seat sharing continues

Puducherry: No talks seat-sharing were held during last two days between political parties constituting the fronts to contest the April 13 Puducherry Assembly polls.

The ruling Congress and its ally the DMK have held joint meetings twice last week but no headway was made in the deliberations held here on the number of seats these two major parties should get.

Congress had contested 16 seats in the 2006 Assembly polls while the DMK 11.

On the opposition side also no headway has been achieved although the All India NR Congress (AINRC) floated by former Chief Minister N Rangasamy had held discussions with AIADMK in Chennai.
