Wrecked Italian Cruise Ship Costa Concordia Refloated.
Strong winds have slowed work to refloat and tow the Costa Concordia cruise ship from Italy's Giglio Island which could delay a planned departure on Monday, salvage workers said.
"The bad weather has had an effect," Franco Gabrielli, the head of Italy's civil protection agency which is overseeing the salvage, told reporters on the Tuscan island.
Gabrielli said that efforts to raise the ship further would now resume only on Saturday once all the chains and cables to secure the hulk have been put in place.
A tweet from the operation's official account said: "Technicians target Monday, but look also to Tuesday" for the start of the ship's final journey.
The Costa Concordia, which crashed into Giglio in January 2012 in a disaster that claimed 32 lives and raised broader questions about cruise ship safety, will be towed to Genoa for scrapping.
