Delhi cops quiz slain aspiring model's friends

New Delhi: Two friends of an aspiring model, whose body was stuffed in a plastic bag after murder, were questioned here on Sunday, police said.

"A team of investigators has been sent to Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district in search of victim's another friend, Shanti Verma," said an officer.

Twenty-year-old Sumit Tiwari's body was found in his friend and scriptwriter Shanti Verma's rented house in Mandawali in east Delhi on Saturday evening. The body bore injury marks.

Police refused to divulge the names of the victim's two friends being questioned.

Tiwari was missing from his house in Karawal Nagar in east Delhi since Feb 21.

His father lodged a complaint after receiving a ransom call for Rs.2 lakh, police said.

Tiwari completed an acting course three months back at a private college in Noida. He was looking forward to become a model and TV actor, an officer said.
