Bus Mows Down 3 on Its Way to Jagan Reddy's Rally in Andhra Pradesh

Four people were reportedly injured in the accident.

Three people were killed and four seriously injured when a mini-bus rammed into pedestrians on a national highway in Andhra Pradesh's west Godavari district. The accident on Sunday afternoon, which took place barely three kilometres outside Rajahmundry, one of the biggest cities in the state, was caught on a CCTV camera

The bus was reportedly carrying supporters of Jagan Mohan Reddy, who were on their way to a public meeting to be addressed by the YSR Congress leader after a two-day 'deeksha' or hunger strike over various issues affecting farmers, at Tanuku town in the same district.

N Harikrishna, Superintendent of Police of Rajahmundry Urban District, said brake failure in the bus could have caused the accident.

The driver reportedly fled the scene after the incident.

The bus belongs to Narayana Group of Schools, owned by MS Narayana, Urban Development Minister in Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's cabinet.
