UN official Jeremy Douglas tweeted that a suicide bomber was "literally 100m from the office and my hotel." He also tweeted that a "serious exchange of fire" was on in downtown Jakarta.

At least three persons are reported killed in multiple blasts in the heart of the Indonesian capital Jakarta on Thursday. The blasts took place near UN offices, a cafe and a mall, according to an official Jakarta police Twitter account. Armed police approached soon after and are engaged in a gunbattle.
