‘Very Good News’: Nirmala Sitharaman Welcomes Trump’s Tariff Reduction Announcement
In her first reaction to US President Donald Trump’s announcement on reducing tariffs, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman called the move “very good news.” Speaking to PTI CEO and Editor-in-Chief Vijay Joshi, Sitharaman said that while the reduction in tariffs is encouraging, the finer details will need to be announced and worked out. She emphasised that, as of now, the key takeaway is that tariffs are being reduced.
