A Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) outbreak has hit Madhya Pradesh’s Neemuch district, with two deaths reported in Manasa town. Authorities have detected over a dozen cases so far, prompting the state government to launch a special drive to identify patients and ensure treatment. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla visited Manasa to review the situation and announced the setting up of a control room, a dedicated GBS ward at the government hospital, and deployment of ambulances with life-saving equipment. The state government has also said it will bear the cost of treatment, while door-to-door surveys are underway to monitor residents.
