The Yamuna River in Delhi has surged to 206.75 metres, surpassing the danger mark of 205.33 metres, following relentless rainfall and the release of water from Haryana’s Hathnikund Barrage. Authorities have sealed the Old Loha Bridge as a precaution and are closely monitoring the situation. Civil defence, police, and flood control teams are stationed along the riverbanks, with evacuation efforts underway in low-lying areas like Yamuna Bazar and Usmanpur. Relief camps have been set up in Mayur Vihar and Sonia Vihar as water enters residential zones.
