"Centre Must Withdraw Farm Bills, Bring Them Back After Discussion": Abhijit Banerjee

Nobel laureate and economist Abhijit Banerjee spoke to NDTV on the ongoing farmers' protests. He said there is a massive lack of trust, and that the government must withdraw the farm laws and bring them back only after enough parliamentary discussion. Mr Banerjee said the government's proposal is not fully spelt out and has led to a lack of assurance. Speaking on the recovery of the Indian economy, the Nobel laureate said investment is fairly slow right now, but there will be a recovery.
