Maharashtra CEO Seeks 4 Changes To ECINet Software For SIR Notice Process
Maharashtra Chief Electoral Officer S Chockalingam has sought four changes to the ECINet software used for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) notice process. One key proposal seeks greater discretion for Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), including allowing them to decide cases involving “logical discrepancies” after conducting a hearing. The proposed changes are aimed at giving EROs more options while processing SIR notices.
