Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is facing a bypoll at the end of this month - a fight to secure her own seat. Raising the poll pitch, Mamata Banerjee confined her campaign not just to local issues but made it about the 2024 national elections. She asserted she will not let India become a Taliban state and that she will speak to PM Modi and Amit Shah about this. This as central ministers are campaigning for BJP candidates in Bengal as well.
