A fresh political controversy has erupted in Karnataka after a CAG audit reportedly flagged financial irregularities in the state's ₹75,000-crore Gruha Lakshmi scheme. The BJP has demanded a probe, with opposition leader R. Ashoka claiming that the Congress government's governance model has been exposed. The Congress has strongly denied allegations of any scam, stating that a statewide survey is underway to verify and clean beneficiary data. Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar has maintained that the Gruha Lakshmi scheme remains a flagship initiative and will continue without interruption.
