Congress' Salman Khurshid Questions Government's Stand In Passport Row
Amid the ongoing passport-citizenship debate, Congress' Salman Khurshid questioned the government's interpretation of the law, arguing that while a passport may not be the final legal proof of citizenship, it is at least a prima facie indication of it. Khurshid noted that the Passport Act allows passports to be issued only to citizens and said ordinary citizens would naturally view possession of a passport as evidence of citizenship.
