Revenue Vs Expenditure: Tamil Nadu Government Unveils White Paper

Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister CTR Nirmal Kumar has presented a white paper detailing the state's revenue receipts and expenditure over the past 25 years. According to the report, total revenue stood at approximately ₹4.97 lakh crore, while expenditure reached ₹5.32 lakh crore, resulting in a significant fiscal deficit. The minister also claimed that a deficit of around ₹34,000 crore accumulated over the last five years despite substantial income, alleging inadequate infrastructure development and limited recruitment during the period under review.
