Content creator Hugh Abroad has been sharing various snippets of his travels across India over the past few months. Many of them document his interactions with locals and exploration of regional delicacies. One of his recent reels that is grabbing eyeballs online shows him hitchhiking in Tamil Nadu. The now-viral video shows the Scottish vlogger waiting at the side of the road with his hand out to ask for a lift. A local man on a bike stops near him, and Hugh asks him if he is going into town. It seems he is, and he allows the vlogger to ride behind him on his bike.
The man asks Hugh where he wants to go, but Hugh admits he has no idea. He only knows that he wants to reach a town (the text on the video indicates that he was in a rural area). Hugh asks the man where he is headed, and he tells him he is going to his boss's house. "You take me as far as you can," Hugh tells him. The man then asks him if he wants a soft drink. After some time, he stops his bike at a local shop. At first, Hugh asks the man if it is his shop. Later, he offers to buy the man a drink. But the man insists that he will buy it.
He points to a fruit at the shop and asks Hugh if he wants its juice. He says okay, but requests that they don't put ice in it. Hugh says that he will pay for it, but the man insists that he will. Hugh thanks him and says it's "very kind." Talking to the camera, he says, "What a lovely man. Free lift and buys me an orange juice." Hugh then peeks inside the stall to see the juice being made. The vendor hands him a glass with a straw. Hugh sips the drink and enjoys its taste. "That's delicious," he declares.
