From High-End Fashion Stores To 7-Eleven Egg Sandos, What All Karan Johar Explored In Tokyo

Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar has found a new city that left him impressed. Taking to his Instagram handle on Thursday, Karan dropped pictures from his Tokyo trip on his last day in the energetic city, along with a heartfelt note. Appreciating the balance and coexistence of stark opposites in the same place, Karan wrote, "An organised city that is crowded and meditative in equal measure, that's new and sells vintage in beautiful abundance."

Picking out the traits that define Tokyo, he continued, "where silences are appreciated, hygiene is inherent, order is the order of every day, and politeness is everywhere."

Announcing his love for the city, he added, "I was late to this Tokyo party, but I slept with matcha-coated dreams on all nights."

Exploring a new city is incomplete without diving into its local food staples. Karan also mentioned, "Also, if you haven't had the egg sandwich from 7-Eleven, then you haven't lived!"

Along with a bunch of fashionable selfies, Karan's Tokyo dump featured famous Tokyo streets filled with Japanese signboards, the iconic Shibuya Scramble Crossing, vibrant soda vending machines, pictures of The Peninsula Tokyo hotel lobby, the Comme des Garçons flagship store, the Gentle Monster Aoyama flagship store, and the Isabel Marant flagship boutique.
