Four candidates who won the panchayat elections in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district alleged that they were kidnapped by Trinamool supporters, a charge denied by the state's ruling party.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday alleged that violence in West Bengal during the recently concluded panchayat elections was carried out by Trinamool Congress activists as per instructions of Mamata Banerjee.
