Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday gave Rs. 2 lakh each to the families of two security personnel killed in the terror attack in Pathankot as well as a taxi driver murdered earlier.

At a small, remote village in the Gurdaspur district of Punjab, a group of women are gathered in a house to mourn a man who has become a national hero. They sit around Madhu, the daughter of Subedar Major Fateh Singh, who was martyred as he fought the terrorists who opened attack on the Pathankot Air Force base early on Saturday morning.

Subedar Major Fateh Singh had clinched a gold in the Big Bore Rifle Three Position event and a silver in the Big Rifle Prone Position event of the first Commonwealth Shooting Championship held here in 1995.

Subedar Fateh Singh, a 51-year-old Army man who lost his life during combing operations at Indian Air Force (IAF) base near Punjab's Pathankot town on Saturday, had won a gold and a silver medal at the first Commonwealth Shooting Championships held in Delhi in 1995.
