A prostitution ring in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur that involves local politicians from both the BJP and the Congress has sent shockwaves around the city. Rajasthan Police on Tuesday arrested an accused in the infamous 1992 Ajmer sex scandal case in which over 100 schoolgirls were blackmailed with their photographs in compromising positions, officials said. The girls were allegedly sexually exploited by a group of about 18 blackmailers.

Bhanwari is now feared dead. She was last seen on September 1; the CBI cannot track her down. Bhanwari Devi, who sought power and fame, has struck the Rajasthan government hard, forcing the resignation of a minister, and implicating other politicians.
