Railways Food Hike

• Further hike in Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto fares

  Close on the heels of a fresh rise in passenger fares, Railways have decided to further hike the fares of premier trains such as Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto effective from October 17.

  After revising the food tariff for all trains except premier services last year, Railways have come up with a proposal to increase the rates of food served in Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto.

  Railways on Tuesday hiked the basic freight charges of grains, pulses and groundnut oil by nearly six per cent, a move that will lead to increase in prices of food items.
