Three children have died of a mysterious fever, suspected to be dengue, while 200 others have been admitted to the Malda district hospital in West Bengal today.

More infant deaths in Bengal's Malda hospital, toll now 20

Four more infants have died in the last 24 hours at the Malda Medical College in West Bengal, taking the number of infant deaths there to 20 in less than a week. The four deaths come just after an observer team of the state health department inspected the hospital.

While three children died in the hospital today, six other deaths occurred during Thursday-Friday, acting Superintendent Dr R R Samanta said, adding that most of them were new-born babies.
