A total of 1.12 lakh daily wage earners died by suicide in three years -- 2019 to 2021, Union Labour Minister Bhupender Yadav said in Lok Sabha on Monday, quoting reports of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).

The government has formed a committee under former chief statistician TCA Anant to ensure transparency in jobs data calculation and presentation, the labour ministry has said. The labour bureau conducts two surveys on employment -- Annual Employment-Unemployment Survey (EUS) and Quarterly Employment Survey (QES)
