A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) head constable allegedly died by suicide on Monday in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district, an official said.

A State Reserve Police Force jawan (SRPF), who was attached to the security detail of cricket legend Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar, allegedly shot himself at his native home in Jamner town, an official said today.

"No suicide note was found at the spot and investigation is underway to ascertain the exact reason that prompted him to take the extreme step," police said.

One Border Security Force (BSF) Jawan got injured after another officer tried to shoot himself, BSF informed in a statement on Tuesday.
