An international tribunal dealing with the killing of two Indian fishermen in 2012 by two Italian marines has upheld the conduct of the Indian authorities over the incident, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday.

Following an international arbitration tribunal's ruling against China on the South China Sea issue, India on Thursday said that it is not in favour of or against any country as it is a matter of law.

Reacting guardedly to India's statement on the strategic South China Sea verdict by a UN-backed tribunal, China today said it too wants to resolve the dispute by "fully complying" with the international law.

Dismissing the US appeal to accept the verdict of the international tribunal on the disputed South China Sea as "delusional", China today said it cannot be forced to accept the July 12 ruling.

A UN tribunal today asked India to suspend the trial of the two Italian marines accused of killing Indian fishermen in 2012, and asked both countries to report to it on the case on September 24.

India has hired two foreign lawyers, experts in international arbitration, to argue the Italian marines case at an International Tribunal in Germany next week.

India will challenge Italy's decision to take the issue of two of its marines, accused of killing two Indian fishermen three years ago, to an international tribunal which will hear it on August 10-11 in Hamburg, Germany.

Italy said Friday it had initiated international arbitration proceedings in the case of two of its marines facing trial in India for the 2012 killing of two fishermen.

The presidents of Ghana and Ivory Coast on Monday held talks on a maritime dispute hanging over oil projects near their shared border, the two sides said in a joint statement released in Accra.
